Overall Description:
Coming from a middle class family (at least for District six) Alex has never shown the guantness that most boys in his district did. He is tall, lean, and hours of work and exercise has added a bit of muscle to his frame. Something that came in handy in the arena. He keeps his brown hair middle length, and his beard closely cropped. Though it has a normal appearance, he will not submit to crazy Capital trends. He has a four inch scar on his left chest, the result of a knife wound he took in the games, and a small dimple on his left cheek. He prefers to wear simple, drab clothing when not in the Capital, and even then he only wears something fashionable because he is made to. He is perfectly comfortable in simple slacks and flannel shirt.

History:
Alex is the oldest in his family of five. His father was one of District Six's top engine mechanics, there was nothing mechanical he could not fix, and his mother helped run the small shop they owned. As a result, he and his two sibling never wanted for much. In fact, he had trouble understanding that there were others out there that had it worse than he did. He was not exactly spoiled, but he was far from being poor.
One night, when he was ten years old, his father was killed as a result of an exploding boat engine, the one mistake his father made cost him his life. With the primary income gone, Alex finally understood what it meant to be hungry. And, since he was the oldest, when he turned eleven years old, he started taking out the tessare. As a result, it came as no shock when five years later, he heard his name announced as the male tribute for District Six.
Once in the Capital, Alex decided to go for broke and worm himself into the career alliance. A move that payed off when they accepted him only to have three of them killed the third night in the arena when Alex cut their throat while they slept and he was on guard duty. After that, he stayed in the shadows, picking off anyone that came close to him. He had a lot to fight for, as he wanted nothing more than to get back to his mother and siblings as soon as possible. He had had a taste of the good life, and he wanted more than anything to bring his family back to that. He had no way of knowing that his mother and brother had been killed by Peacekeepers while he was in the arena. It seemed as though the President saw his killing of the careers as they slept as a cowardly act and he had to be punished. He only found this out after he was crowned victor and realized that only his sister had survived, and the only reason she had was because she happened to be awake at the time of the "break in" and was able to scramble safety.
Now, as a broken shell and a mentor, Alex battles his inner demons the best he can on a daily basis. He copes by subjecting himself to the (technically) illegal drug heroin, though he hates what he does, he does it to at least attempt to nullify the pain. His love and wish to protect his little sister keeps him from killing himself completely. That, and his almost burning desire to bring home at least one tribute. He has SOME pride left and he will be damned before he lets the capital take that from him.
